Adam has approaching 25 years service in the Welsh Government (WG), covering a variety of roles in a statistical and analytical content. He has covered areas at each of the different grades, ranging from: the calculation of financial allocations for local government in Wales; the collection and publication of health performance data; the presentation of economic, business and labour market statistics for Wales; managing the collection of the bulk of data from public sector partners in Wales. Currently he is combining this last role with overall responsibility for a small team delivering mapping and GIS services in WG and providing technological/IT support for our analysts. During that time he has built up a level of expertise in data management and has been central to restructuring the data services provided by WG, both in terms of back office systems and outward facing data dissemination. He was part of the team that initially procured the StatsWales service in 2003, and which has since provided an interactive view of the detailed statistical data supporting most of services devolved to Welsh Government. He has overall responsibility for that service, and also the Lle spatial data portal, which are key elements in increasing the accessibility and openness of statistical and spatial data in Wales.

Barry is IT Director and a Partner at Hymans Robertson LLP, the UK's largest independent firm of consulting actuaries. Since joining in 2012, he has played a leading role in enabling the 94 year old firm to embrace the opportunities being created as the financial services sector goes through a period of unprecedented change, fuelled in part by the digital revolution. The firm is turning increasingly to the data, API and application economies to supplement its traditional consulting business, leveraging its strong heritage to take new innovative offerings to market. To do this, Barry has been required to take on a multi-faceted role that exploits his prior experience as chief architect, business consultant and software engineer. In addition, he been required to new skills such as those being developed in the start-up community in relation to innovation management and understanding how the latest cloud technology can be successfully harnessed by the firm. Barry is lucky to have an excellent in house team of technology professionals who have formed a strong partnership with Microsoft, and its partners, to accelerate the transformation of the firm. Barry believes "a diagram is worth a thousand words": he loves exploiting his artistic talents to facilitate visual meetings. He is itching to get his hands on the firm's first Surface Hub device, as it will provide him with even more scope for free form visioning! His "renaissance man" tendencies extend outside of work where he enjoys combining his passions for mountain biking, swimming, photography, cooking, Minecraft (with the kids!) and playing trombone in a punk band.

Rob started his working career as a commissioning engineer in the Military flight simulation sector, then joined Hymans Robertson bringing with him a wealth of technical experience across multiple disciplines. Through the years Rob's roles within the IT Group have evolved very much like the firm. He now leads the IT Operations team ensuring both internal and external clients are fully supported across a diverse range of technologies and IT Services. Working with the IT Director, Rob plays a key role in helping shape and deliver Hymans Robertson's Technology Strategy, this being with a specific focus on End User technologies, Unified Communications and Service Management. In his role as Operations Manager, Rob, with the help of his teams, act as a control interface between the firms internal and external clients, and the technology. With such rapid change in this area, the release of new technologies needs to be managed effectively to avoid the risk of end user "Technology Fatigue"! Over recent years Rob has played a leading role in fully introducing Skype for Business into the firm, transforming the way staff communicate and collaborate, and firmly establishing this as Hymans Robertson's Unified Communications platform of choice.

Beatrice Lightfoot is the Director - Digital and Technology for the Funding Agencies Shared Services Team (FAS2T) which is part of the Department for Education (DfE). FAS2T provides efficient secure payments, financial assurance, Digital & Technology and data analysis services for the Education Funding Agency (EFA) and the Skills Funding Agency (SFA). FAS2T is responsible for the distribution and management of 59billon pound of funding to the Education and Skills sectors. Having spent many years in the private sector working for blue chip organisations, Beatrice joined the Civil Service in 2008. Since joining the Civil Service, Beatrice has been a strong advocate for change ensuring that Digital and Technology enables government to deliver policy that meets user needs in an efficient way. Over the last few years Beatrice has lead on a major IT transformation that has seen a fundamental shift in the way that IT is being delivered within government. This has resulted in FAS2T being one of the first organisations in government to fully embrace the use of public cloud technologies, enabling government to in-source the operation of its Digital & Technology services and resulting in an overall cost reduction. This year she focused on the digital transformation of the Agency funding service with the launch of the Skills Funding Service. It enables learning providers to contract and claim funding online, automating payments and reconciliation against overall contract values. She is looking forward to the launch of the new digital apprenticeship service early next year, which will empower employers to build skills through quality apprenticeships.
